The Air Jordan 5 'Black Metallic' is known for its sleek black nubuck upper, metallic silver accents, and speckled shark teeth on the midsole that is accompanied by a visible air unit.
The 'Black Metallic' Air Jordan 5 has been released five times, with the sixth arriving in 2025. The first debuted in 1990, and the first retro launched in 2000. Both pairs had the iconic Nike Air branding. In 2007 and 2011, the sneakers returned. However, both versions came with a Jumpman on the heels and the number 23 stitched on the lateral side, reminiscent of Michael Jordan’s PE. The last retro release occurred in 2016, and Nike Air Branding was brought back, but the shoe was still not true to the original 1990 form.
The 2025 release will be the first retro release true to the original 1990 construction. The Air Jordan 5 Retro OG 'Black Metallic' will be released in Spring 2025.
