Anthony Edwards is bringing one of Marvel's most recognizable villains into his signature sneaker lineup. The adidas AE 3 'Dr. Doom,' also known as 'Doomsday,' takes inspiration from the iconic comic book antagonist, combining his signature green and silver armor with the futuristic design of Edwards' third basketball shoe.
The sneaker received additional attention during Edwards' second annual Believe That Awards, where it claimed the fictional “Sneaker of the Year” honor. The event offered a closer look at the design after an earlier image had provided only a limited preview.
The connection to Doctor Doom is immediately recognizable. Rich green covers much of the upper, while metallic silver panels wrap around the sides, toe, and heel to recreate the character's armored appearance.

Some of the silver sections feature reflective finishes, while a brushed-metal texture across the midfoot adds another reference to Doom's signature armor. The combination gives the AE 3 an industrial, almost mechanical appearance that complements the silhouette's aggressive design.
The most distinctive detail appears on the tongue, where Doctor Doom's face replaces the traditional Anthony Edwards logo. A small gold accent on the heel tab adds contrast to the otherwise green and silver color scheme.
The sneaker arrives amid growing anticipation for Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled to reach theaters December 18, 2026. Although adidas has been developing other Marvel-themed footwear, no official connection between the AE 3 'Dr. Doom' and the film's release has been confirmed.
For now, the adidas AE 3 'Dr. Doom' remains an unreleased design, with adidas yet to announce whether the sneaker will receive a public launch.
