NBA Star Austin Reaves Debuts Rigorer AR1 Signature Shoe in “Showtime" Colorway in Partnership with Global Marketplace KICKS CREW

New York City, NY - Following the successful debut of his first signature shoe and the signing of a four-year max contract with the Los Angeles Lakers, NBA star Austin Reaves and global performance brand Rigorer will launch a new colorway of the Rigorer AR1 on October 28, 2023. 

The new “Showtime” colorway will be priced at $100 and released exclusively on KICKS CREW. Austin Reaves first debuted this new colorway at Sneaker Con Los Angeles with KICKS CREW for an exclusive in-person launch for attendees. 

The Los Angeles Lakers star has had a successful start to his signature shoe line this summer with Chinese sportswear brand Rigorer. After signing a long-term partnership with Rigorer in June, Austin’s first two debut colorways for the AR1 instantly sold out.

"This summer has just been absolutely surreal for me. Everything has been amazing, from signing long-term with the Lakers to playing in the FIBA World Cup and my shoes selling out in minutes,” said Austin Reaves. “But now my focus is strictly on the Lakers and making sure I do whatever I can to bring that championship trophy back to Los Angeles, and this shoe is a reflection of that goal and my journey with the organization."

The AR1 “Showtime” launch will mark the third release from Austin’s signature shoe line. This edition features a Lakers-inspired colorway, combining the iconic purple and gold on a black base. It's a vibrant tribute to the Lakers' Showtime legacy, reflecting the team's triumphs and Austin's goal of returning them to that glory.

Engineered to excel, the AR1 features the latest performance technology inspired by Rigorer’s journey in basketball. 

Key features include:

• Woven Cocoon Upper represents Austin’s continuous growth; the cocoon-inspired upper offers breathability and lockdown support.
• Showtime Foam Tech Midsole encapsulated in EVA foam. Rigorer’s latest midsole was designed with players like Austin in mind, who prefer a low-court feel while receiving over 80% energy return.
• Bubble Lacing System – an innovative and never-before-seen bubble design utilized on the AR1’s tongue, with encapsulated foam “bubbles” to eliminate lace bite for players.
• Anti-Torsion TPU Plate made with a carbon fiber and nylon composition to enhance midfoot stability while performing lateral movements.
• Anti-Slip Sole with an all-new, zone-patterned traction design engineered with anti-slip rubber for the ultimate court grip.
• Front Sidewall TPU panels are utilized on the lateral sides to enhance forefoot lockdown and eliminate foot slippage.
• Heel TPU to enhance heel stability when landing, preventing severe ankle injuries.
