Pokémon x adidas Collection Celebrates 30 Years of Pokémon

adidas is celebrating 30 years of Pokémon with its biggest collaboration featuring the franchise to date. Launching in September 2026, the Pokémon x adidas 30th Anniversary Collection spans more than a dozen sneakers across lifestyle and performance-inspired silhouettes. Rather than focusing on a single model, adidas has created an expansive lineup that brings some of Pokémon's most iconic characters to life through unique materials, custom details, and playful design elements.

Pikachu leads the collection with three different releases. A yellow suede Superstar features plush ears attached to the tongue and character faces on the heels, while another Superstar opts for a cleaner white-and-black design covered in Pikachu graphics. The Pro Model takes the concept even further with fuzzy yellow pony hair and a removable Pikachu tail charm attached near the heel.

Mewtwo also receives a major spotlight with three distinct silhouettes. The Handball Spezial features a sculpted heel inspired by the Legendary Pokémon's body, while the Samba incorporates Mewtwo artwork on the tongue, a glossy purple heel, and a modified three-eyelet lacing system resembling its hands. Completing the trio is a ZX 8000 featuring a Master Ball lace dubrae, molded heel details, and purple-and-pink accents throughout.

Several fan-favorite evolutions are represented as well. Charmander, Charmeleon, and Charizard each receive their own Superstar, with every sneaker evolving in color and design. The Charizard edition stands out with orange scale-like textures, green collar accents, and removable wings attached over the laces, making it one of the most elaborate pairs in the collection.

Rayquaza headlines two of adidas' more technical silhouettes. The Megaride F50 incorporates scale-inspired textures, yellow markings, and an oversized lace cover that mirrors the Legendary Pokémon's appearance. Meanwhile, the adiStar Control 5 interprets the dragon through layered mesh, reflective details, metallic finishes, and synthetic overlays.

The darker side of the Pokémon universe also gets its moment. Gastly appears on the adiStar Control 3 in black and purple, Haunter transforms the adiStar Control 5 with pointed tongue extensions and hidden pink accents, and Gengar takes over the adiStar XLG 2.0 with raised side panels forming its eyes and a toe construction that creates its signature face from above.

With characters spanning multiple generations and silhouettes ranging from classics like the Superstar and Samba to modern performance-inspired models, the collection celebrates Pokémon's 30-year legacy in a way that extends well beyond simple graphic prints. Each sneaker incorporates thoughtful design details that reflect the personality and evolution of its featured Pokémon. The Pokémon x adidas 30th Anniversary Collection is expected to release in September 2026 through adidas.com and select retailers.
