Official Look at the Nike Air Jordan 1 High Zoom “Space Hippie”

Earlier this season, Nike debuted the “Space Hippie” collection by releasing four pairs of sneakers made with recycled plastic. The distinct highlight of the Space Hippie sneakers has to be their Crater Foam: colorful and crafted with the eco-friendly Nike Grind.

To expand the “Space Hippie” lineup, Nike has given the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom the recycled plastic makeover. Let’s take a look.

Upon first glance, the Air Jordan 1 High Zooms are very subdued. Dressed in neutral grey, the upper is accented by black eyestay, heel straps and the signature Swooshes. Around the ankle and tongue, red stitching can be spotted as a nod to the OG Space Hippie motif.

Following the recent Nike aesthetic, the kicks in question feature a collapsed collar to show off the inner construction.

But what catches our eyes the most has to be the sole design. The usual monochromatic AJ1 soles have been remade with the Crater Foam, with a grey outsole enveloping a white midsole. As the foam is made with recycled plastic, no two pairs will have the same sole pattern.

The “Space Hippie” remake of the Air Jordan 1 High Zoom might not be the most head turning design ever, but we can appreciate its subtlety and comfort brought by the Nike Zoom technology.

Rumored to drop in September, these kicks will retail for around $175 USD.
