McDonald’s and Nike Team Up for The Book 2

McDonald's is stepping into the signature sneaker world through a new collaboration with Devin Booker and the Nike Book 2. Rather than leaning on traditional red-and-yellow branding, the project takes inspiration from one of Arizona’s most recognizable landmarks: the rare McDonald’s location in Sedona known for its distinctive turquoise-blue arches.

The collaboration introduces two different versions of the Book 2. A tan-and-blue retail colorway serves as the main release, while a second all-blue Friends & Family edition offers a more exclusive interpretation of the concept. Both pairs move away from the visual direction many would typically expect from a McDonald’s partnership.

The retail version uses earthy shades throughout the upper, pulling from Arizona’s desert landscape and Sedona’s natural scenery. Cracked textures appear across portions of the design, creating a weathered look that reinforces the outdoor-inspired theme. Turquoise-blue accents appear throughout the Swoosh, collar lining, outsole, and collaborative branding details.

The Friends & Family pair shifts toward a stronger blue presentation tied directly to Sedona’s famous arches. Instead of subtle accents, the alternate version embraces the color more aggressively, creating a cleaner and more exclusive look connected to the collaboration story.

The release also continues a recurring theme throughout Booker’s signature line. Many of his sneakers have pulled inspiration from Arizona culture and personal references rather than relying solely on basketball narratives. This project extends that direction by connecting local history with one of the most recognizable brands in the world.

The McDonald's x Nike Book 2 is scheduled to release on June 2, 2026, while the all-blue Friends & Family version will be available through a special giveaway promotion.
