Jason Williams Re-Signs With Nike

Jason Williams is officially back with Nike. The former Sacramento Kings star has re-signed with the Swoosh to headline the 25th anniversary return of the Nike Zoom Hyperflight, one of the early 2000s’ most distinctive basketball silhouettes. The reunion marks a full-circle moment for Williams, who helped cement the Hyperflight’s cult status during his electrifying prime.

The announcement came during a recent episode of Williams’ Hooping n Hollering podcast, where he reflected on his history with Nike. After beginning his career with the brand, he later moved to AND1 before stepping away from footwear endorsements entirely following retirement. Despite that shift, Williams maintained a strong relationship with Nike — and now returns as the face of the Hyperflight’s long-awaited revival.

Originally released in 2001, the Nike Zoom Hyperflight was known for its glossy patent leather upper, molded construction, and futuristic aesthetic that felt ahead of its time. The silhouette became synonymous with Williams’ flashy, no-look passing and creative style of play. For 2026, Nike will reintroduce the model in multiple patent leather colorways, including the return of his beloved purple Sacramento Kings-themed PE.

The campaign officially tips off during NBA All-Star Weekend in Los Angeles, where Williams will host a special SNKRS launch event celebrating the retro. Retail is expected to land at $170, positioning the Hyperflight as both a nostalgic statement piece and a reassertion of early-2000s basketball design. For fans of that era, the Hyperflight’s return isn’t just another retro — it’s the comeback of a moment that defined a generation of creative hoop culture.
