Air Jordan 4 'Laser' Pack Set for 2027
Jordan Brand is bringing back the laser theme.ByAaron ShamimApr 28, 2026

Jordan Brand is expected to revisit one of its most distinctive mid-2000s projects with the return of the Air Jordan 4 'Laser' Pack. Originally launched in 2005, the two-pair set became one of the standout releases tied to the brand’s early anniversary storytelling era.
The original collection celebrated the 20th anniversary of the Air Jordan line and introduced laser-etched artwork as a central design feature. Inspired by themes first seen on the Air Jordan 20, the concept used engraved graphics across the leather uppers to tell stories through intricate linework rather than traditional color blocking alone. It marked a shift toward more narrative-driven product design within the Jordan archive.
Two versions anchored the pack. The 'White Laser' pair paired a white leather base with bold red and black accents, creating a familiar Jordan palette enhanced by etched graphics throughout the upper. The 'Black Laser' counterpart took a darker approach, using black leather with red detailing, grey contrasts, and subtle green eyelets for a more experimental finish. Together, the duo balanced classic heritage with futuristic design cues.

Much of the original appeal came from the work of Mark Smith, whose laser artwork helped define the era. His influence introduced a new way for Jordan Brand to embed storytelling directly into footwear construction, turning each panel into part of a larger visual narrative.
For longtime collectors, the pack represents a specific period when Jordan retros began evolving beyond simple reissues. It blended nostalgia with innovation, making it one of the more memorable special projects from the 2000s. A modern return would likely bring updated shape, materials, and comfort while preserving the etched identity that made the originals stand out.
The Air Jordan 4 'Laser' Pack is currently expected to release in February 2027, with both pairs rumored to arrive together in a special two-shoe set priced at $500 USD. Stay up to date on every upcoming Air Jordan release with our Air Jordan Release Dates calendar.
