Air Jordan 26
For the 26th edition of Air Jordan, Nike decided to do something special. Tinker Hatfield returned, with his fellow designer Tom Luedecke helping him design the sneakers. The result? Air Jordan 26. The first sneakers in the Air Jordan line to introduce the interchangeable midsole.
The first Air Jordan 26 colorway to hit the market was the Air Jordan 26 Black/Metallic Copper. This is the first pair that featured the “Jumpman” logo. It was also the first pair to feature an upper made from a mix of leather and nubuck. Then there is the Air Jordan 26 White/Varsity Red-Black colorway. This is perhaps one of the most iconic colorways in the history of Air Jordan. In this pair, the Nike Swoosh was replaced with the Jumpman logo. The logo was placed on both sides of the sneakers, as well as on the tongue.
Another iconic colorway is the Air Jordan 26 White/Black-Varsity Red. In this pair, Tinker Hatfield decided to switch things up a bit by removing the Jumpman logo from the heel. However, he still managed to create a design that is as iconic as those from the original Air Jordan colorways. Rounding up the Air Jordan 26 lineup are four more colorways, one of which is the Air Jordan 26 White/Classic Green-Black colorway - the colorway inspired by MJ’s high school alma mater, Laney High.
